This man stood tall against the challenge brought by the winds of life, he was a man who knew and loved life's
enthusiasms, its great devotions and enthusiastically spent himself in their cause.

Dear Peter,
Gosh, another birthday is drawing near and I have some news for you.
I know you would be very proud of your son - Tammy and I were most
impressed with his capable, calm, cheerful and enthusiastic abilities as our dive
instructor and host at Coral Divers in Sodwana. We first had to do a refresher
course in the pool with him and I was amazed at his authoritative underwater
communication skills. Day two saw us going out to Four Buoys on two Mile Reef
with him and a couple of his students. There was a large surge so the conditions
were unfortunately far from perfect. Our next dive was excellent – good viz , no
ground swell and a myriad of colourful sea creatures, many of which Stuart
pointed out to us.
The dive restored my faith in the sport although I miss the wonderful Cape kelp
forests concealing crawlies, perlies and greedy hotties! The water there is so
warm, unlike the west coast when one is so tempted to release a little warm fluid
to stop the shivering! Don’t pretend that you never did!
Anyway Pete, it was a gratifying experience for Tammy (and for me, nostalgic)
to be guided by your child.
Oh yes, I did 70 kms of the Orange River in a Mohawk canoe with a bunch of
friends – it was most memorable but not for sissies, as on day one as we had an
exhausting headwind and the most valuable commodity in our group was a pack
of anti inflammatories!
With much love as always
